Rebuilding a Nikki, wich kit should I get?

rebuilding/stripping a Nikki from an 83 gs

I will be stripping my nikki according to Glazedham42's write up https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generation-specific-1979-1985-18/how-strip-down-nikki-carb-912089/

i have found several kits but when i came across Mazdatrix.com they have an 83 only kit, which made me really question which kit i should get.

so far there's

mazdatrix's 83 only rebuild kit @ $63
http://mazdatrix.com/c-3.htm

Black Dragon's repair kit @ $25
http://www.blackdragonauto.com/icata....aspx?Page=115

Atkins Rotary rebuild kit @ $55
http://atkinsrotary.com/store/catalo...t-p-17197.html

auto zone's kit @ $26

Get the GP Sorensen kit from Autozone. It's the best quality at the lowest price. It has metal crush washers like OEM. I tried the Black Dragon repair kit and I was disappointed. All of the crush washers were made out of a plastic/paper material. When you tried to tighten them down they smashed out and broke.

Get the Autozone kit.

By the way, I don't know why Mazdatrix has a separate kit for the 1983's. But I can tell you that I used the GP Sorensen kit from Autozone to rebuild the carburetor on my 1983 GS. It worked fine. I don't know what the differences between the kits are, but the Autozone kit had everything I needed so I was happy.

+1 for the Sorensen kit. Only issue I ever had with them is once in a blue moon you may need to trim the outer paper 'gaskets' (actually just shock pads; they don't seal anything) for the bowl sight glasses, but it's a 1-minute job with scissors. Otherwise they are top drawer.
