Rebuild or not rebuild, that’s the question,
I bought an 84 SE on EBay and the engine hasn’t been start in more than 5 years. I’ve been told that the engine might be bad and the best thing to do is to rebuild the engine. I been looking around and it will cost me from $2000 to $3000 depending on how many good parts my engine have. I’m also been looking at rebuild engines online. My question is, is it better and cheaper to rebuild my engine or to buy an already rebuild engine and just install it in my car? What would you do? Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you,

How do you figure it will cost you $2000 to $3000? I would buy a ready rebuilt engine and drop it in if you have never rebuilt a rotary before and dont care to try and tackle it yourself.

If I have to rebuild, I will like to rebuild the engine myself but I’ve never done a big project like that. I bought a set of DVD’s that is supposed to guide you trough the process. DVD’s name DIY-RE 13B from www.diy-re.co.nz , has anyone tried this before? Come w/four DVD 1. Preparation & cleaning of parts, 2. Assembly of the Rotors, 3. Assembly of the engine, 4. Setting the End Float. If I decide to do it myself, what do I need (parts, equipment, etc.) And how much do you guys think it will cost?
Thank you,
Thank you,
