Rear spring upgrade needed

My 84 GSL has had sport springs for a long time, I cannot recall which ones without checking the car. They were an off the shelf sport lowering spring.

My car has had a LOT of mods since.

Now when I have two people on the car the rear fenders rub on the tires.

I need a numerically higher spring rate, what are my options?

I am not scared of cutting them down.

I want enough spring not a really stiff rate so I can use this as a touring event ride for days at a time.

You could try some spring rubbers. They are rubber or urethane blocks that sit between a pair of coils, pretty much removing one of the spring coils from operation and in turn increasing spring rate

Are your rear fenders rolled? That solved my problem.

Yes, if they weren't rolled the lip wound have sat on the tire not rubbed on the edge.

I know that finding them is a huge issue these days, but I'm really pleased with the adjustable rear perches. Combine that with an adjustable shock and your desired spring rate, and you should be all set. Turn the shocks down for long rides, crank them up when you're playing around.
