rear iron oil line bung thread size?

I'm fabbing some of my own oil lines for my 84 12a fmoc. i noticed the two bung treads on the oil cooler and on the front cover are the same, but the threads on the rear iron is larger. what size am i looking for. pref and adapter from that size to a standered 1/2 male.

ya, i tore everything apart upfront to install that fmoc i bought so i can finally use my rb filter can on the dell, and while everything was apart i decided to paint the rad and the sourounds and the battery tray, looks nice now. just one coupling away from being done.

the rb filter wouldnt fit?? hmm..i always thought that..you could fit it on...and if you had trouble..you could just take off the intake to put it on..

it will be a real tight fit but as usual, there is a way around it. Slightly bend the oil filler neck away from the filter.

Are you using a 1st or 2nd gen fmoc? All of the rear banjo bolts are the same size. Even if you're retrofitting a 79-82, an SE or an FC fmoc, you still should be able to use the rear hardline and banjo bolt. Either way when using any of the 3 fmocs and hardlines, you willl need to have a 1/2" barb brazed on the hardline that goes to the rear iron, once the length and routing of that line has been determined.

Depending on the shop, they may wish to argue that they can't mix and match metric and standard. That's total BS. Same with the hose diameter. 1/2" hydraulic hose, along with the appropriate crimping ferrels work fine. Also keep in mind you will need new crush washers and do not overtighten the hoses going to the 1st gen FMOC. This is why I prefer the FC fmocs, banjo bolts are much more forgiving.;

If you have any other questions, PM me.

Scott.

If you're still looking for the thread size here you go... just swapped over to AN fitting yesterday

Fitting exist to go between metric and AN sizes, I just got a couple of them

Rear Iron 18mm x 1.5
Front Iron 16mm x 1.5

The Oil Cooler fitting I believe are the same as the front iron, so 16mm x 1.5, although i'm not positive about this since I have -8 AN male bungs welded on instead of using the stock fittings

Hope this helps

Yeah, the oil cooler has the same flared fittings as the front cover, so that would make them 16mm.
