I couldn't find them. Do you have an URL or a part number?

I bought the ones that BD had and they work fine for my 80.

Call Black Dragon Racing. They have a website and you can order online. They sell them for the 1980 RX-7. I installed a new set in my 1979 this last weekend. $19.50 each. $39.00 for matching set.

BD doesn't have the strut with the wiper apparatus.

Nah. I don't use it enough for it to matter.
What? Your head?

I bought two from Mazdatrix about a year ago. I just transferred the electrical stuff for the wiper from the old strut. I had to hacksaw the end off the old strut to get those parts. The new struts have a threaded on end piece so it was very easy to put thosee parts on the new one. To hold the wires that run the length of the strut, I used a piece of heat shrink tubing (was very careful shrinking it). Came out looking almost better than the factory job!

Hey, Thanks for posting this suggestion. I printed it out and ran to my local Autozone to buy them. The guy there looked this very item up on their computer and showed me that they have discontinued carrying it. A search of all the stores in my area showed that none of them had any remaining stock.
I then went, on the suggestion of another poster in this thread and got Strong Arm shocks from my local Advance Auto. It took overnight to ship them in , but they did come in the next morning. I put them on in a matter of about ten minutes and boy what a difference! Can't recall exactly what I paid for them, but I think it was about $20/shock. Hope this helps others solve this problem.

I think I am going to get a piece of shrink wrap tube and attach the motor and defroster wires. I had that in mind and then someone posted that they did it with good results. Maybe you should consider this too while you're working on it. A few more minutes spent will make the job look a lot cleaner. Good Luck!

well i just finished installing my shocks. my rear defrost and wiper conectors arent connected at this time. im going to take my driversside shock to work tuesday and cut the shaft and pull that part off. while im there im going to get some shrink wrap for that side as well.

it was really easy and straight forward. these shocks are STRONG. they shoot the hatch up. there is one bad thing though. these dont come with a plastic or rubber spacer to go in between the rod and the shock end at the window so when it comes out and reaches the end its kind of noisey. i tried to remove the ones from the old ones but i dont think ill be able to do so. so now i need to find a way to get something in there to stop the metal on metal noise.
