okay so i was driving around last night, wasn't even driving hard or anything.
and i was going up this hill so i was giving it a little gas and for some reason it would cut out if i gave it more than like half throttle. now all day today it can't rev past 5500 rpm. i dont know what the hell is wrong with it.
the belts also started squealing at about the same time, and they were loose but i tightened everything up and it's still doing it. i can't even free rev it past 5500, has anyone had anything like this before? could it be the injectors? fuel filter? spark plugs? it idles fine and revs nicely up to 5 ish then it cuts out so i dont know.....

Definately check the fuel filter. Even if it isn't your problem, its good maintenance. But, from what it sounds like, it very well could be.

And, are you saying that after tightening up your belts, they still squeal?

no not the squealing, just the cutting out and stuff, i didn't think they were related but they happened within 10 minutes of each other so i thought i would just add it in there.

i can barely go the speed limit right now and hills are killing me.
i think it could be the fuel filter so im gonna check that out.

Check your leading ignition for spark... Might have lost a coil or ignitor.

 

I was having all sorts of hesitation and fuel cuts when i first bought it.

best advice, give her a full tune up, new plugs, plug wires, fuel filter. oil change, and a fresh tank of gas.
