Does anyone know how how a 1st gen with a 12a is suppose to run in degrees? I'm looking for a temp gauge and i dont know what range i should be looking for.

These motors, as with any motor, should not run more than just a few degrees warmer than the thermostat's design temp. Therefore, it is reasonable to expect no more than 220F under most conditions.
Any normal temp gauge will have the correct temp range for a rotary engine.

My 85 SE runs at 180 degrees. Thats with an aftermarket gauge and e fan. You should still not run much higher then that.
