Real Hid

Well I heard that a friend of mine just converted his headlights to real Hid's on his GSL-SE and it looks awesome. I have'nt seen them in person but, I'm planning on stoping by tomorrow to take pictures.

Mean While, I've been doing some research on what he might have done.

I figure all we would need is the hosing and that's it.

What do you guy's think?

With a single headlight setup like our RX-7's have, when you go HID you loose your high beams. As far as that auction goes, be carefull. The guy says that the bulb will fit most any headlight. I seriously doubt that statement. Get the specs!

Yes I read that,

But I also read that the lights would be so bright, that you would'nt need high beams.

I think I'm going to start going to the junkyards, and maybe I'll get lucky.

So then you've just got oncoming traffic flashing their brights at you all the time and you don't have anything to flash back with. Sounds annoying and frustrating.

Luis,

I upgraded to H4 bulbs, with the reflector back.
The difference is amazing. I have the lighting power of
a new car, with both low and high beams.

I might try upgrading these to the Silverstar ones too.

Everybody's going to say they suck.

They don't. It was 10 times better than stock, and very crisp and clear. I love them.

I did replace the bulbs with GE ones though, as the ones they came with were the "bluish" bulbs.

a friend of mine some how gets his hands on the HID kits from BMW, he wants me to install a set like he has on his civic. but i think my lighting is fine, and i dont want to lose my high beams.

I'm waiting for my housings to get here so I can do the conversion myself. I got a pair of H.I.D. lights from a BMW. My friend had a set on his FC and they looked really nice. didn't need the hi-beams. Only thing that sucked is that he couldn't flash his lights but they still looked nice.

http://www.danielsternlighting.com/t...s/Hid/HID.html

(BTW, he also says there are 2 very different Silverstar products and do not get the North America version http://www.danielsternlighting.com/t...good/good.html)
