ready for summer!!

With no more snow...hopefully, I cleaned up the SE and got her ready for a great summer. Thought I would share the pictures. Does anyone know of a way to remove the targa top? What's under there? The fiberglass base piece is deteriorating to the point where I don't think it can be repaired. I would like to get a new paint job, but with this piece on the car would still look...well...old! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

When I removed my Targa top, I found a nifty GSL badge and lots of un-faded paint. You can get at the screws after you open both doors, a few run up the sills. More screws along the back of the roof where the hatch meets the top. Should be a few pieces of double sided tape along the front edge of the top.

Thanks Jason! Was their any repair work that was required? Filling screw holes and such?

I was just curious and taking things apart, so it went back on after I hosed out all the dead leaves and pine needles. Screw holes would need to be filled, and the vent covers need to be put back on the body, but other than that I can't think of much else. Good luck!

I have not seen many 7's with the targa top. Got any pictures of yours?

I love having mine on the car. It makes autocross so much easier.

The targa bands are purely cosmetic and non-functional, not like some other models, or even the 2nd gen vert that has a removeable center section.

i've got a targa band and the rear spoiler. i'm missing the front spoiler. together the pieces make up an appearance package that mazda called the "IMSA" appearance package. the parts could be purchased seperatly or as the IMSA package.
