Re-vitalizing the stock seats????

Hey guys, i rode passenger in my car for the first time, (ever, pretty much), last week. And GOD DAMN, that seat is NIIIIIICE. it holds me perfetly. screw getting aftermarket seats, that seat felt soooooo good.

So is there any way to make my driver's seat feel that way? I'm thinkin maybe just swap the seat backs or something?? Perhaps there is some secret method someone has figured out to re-vitalization.

Please share!!! I NEED to know! Is it possible to swap the driver back and passenger back? Just glancing at it, doesnt really look like its very possible, but i'll have to take a closer look.

THanks
~Geoff

Not without a lot of hardwork and then its probably not overly safe. Best bet is to go to a mazda or RX7 wreckers and find some good seats, my stocks ones were all ripped and yuk when i got my 7 i got a new set for $120, and were the same colour of my car and interior so I was happy.

And defintly the stock ones rock.

A good upholstery repair person should be able to re-do the seat with new foam and fabric. We recently had an old sofa done (my grandmothers) with new foam and fabric. Cost $500. I would imagine a car seat would be at least $200-$300 less.

I love the seats in my 85 GSL. I think they are fantastic- much better than the seats in my 99 Dodge 1500 Ram or Subaru Impreza. If mine get worn, thats the route I'm taking.

I put heated seat elements in mine, lots of work, I moved the foam around so the best was in the drivers seat which gets the most use.
