Angry RB header...

my dad ordered my header for me a couple weeks ago.. the guys a rb told him it would take about 4-7 business days for it to be at my house. my dad called back a week and a half later just to check up on it.. they tell him they had a batch sent off to get stainless steal coated or something like that, and it would be another week. we wait another week and a half, i call. they tell me, than they sent another batch off, and arent sending any out till the second batch comes in. but im "number 2 on the list" so its going to be another 2 weeks.. this sucks, i hope its actually going to be 2 weeks, i want to hurry and get my exhaust done so i can move to other things.. plus actually being able to feel some more power. just needed to vent.. anyone else have this with racing beat?

I hear you man. I had the exact same thing happen to me. They bricked on my pre-silencer. Took an extra week because it had to be chromed. THEN, a couple weeks later they messed up on another order of a bunch of small things (sent the wrong gasket, which was broken anyway).

With the pre-silencer thing, I called and bitched out the phone rep big-time since I was assured it would be there by that day (Friday). The next day, I got a call from the owner (as he identified himself) apologizing and assuring me it would be sent 2-day on Monday. Pretty cool that he took time out of his Saturday to do that, and sending something that big 2-day ain't cheap either.

They're a good company, but they get so many orders that I think it's hard for them to keep up. You'll get the parts and you'll be happy with them, but it may take a little longer. Maybe if there were more rotary performance options, they'd shape up. But since there isn't, we'll keep ordering from them.

With me they shipped a kit missing 2 pieces. When I phoned and complained, they sent me virtually a whole new kit to make sure everything was covered (in this case it was the front/rear swaybar kit)

They do screw up but as posted above I think they're victims of their own success

You might want to try negotiating. Like next time you talk to 'em remind 'em "you originally quoted me 4-7 days and you've put me off twice. I want your product but you'er starting to tick me off...." (pause as they offer perfunctory apoligies here) "Tell ya what - throw in a set of front swaybar end links with poly bushings and we'll call it good".

the front swaybar end links are a $10-$15 kit, so not much out of their pocket, but then you get something for the inconvenience. Just a thought.

Point is, they put you out so asking for a small item as compensation is fair. Don't get greedy, or they'll just say 'no' (which is their right) but don't be afraid to ask fror a li'l sumthin'.

I orderd my RB exhaust from Mazdatrix. They shipped it all same day and I had it shortly there after. I was very pleased with Mazdatrix' service and it cost same as buying directly from Racing Beat.

I second Mazdatrix's prompt service. My experience with Racing Beat was a slow one, but then again, very flexible.

Mazdatrix carries RB brand exhaust stuff for our cars. They do their own mods for the 6 port exhausts. Grey area just refers to the legal issues with the exhausts, usally catalytic converters.

I'll agree with Mazdatrix being pretty decent. But I had a bad experience there too. I ordered front and rear caliper rebuild kits on a tues. and paid for 2-day shipping. The rep told me they wouldn't be able to ship until Wed. and they'd get to me on Friday. That was fine except he meant the NEXT wed. and friday. Not a terrible thing because I didn't them that bad, but just a breakdown of communication. I still like their reps better though.

My vote will always be with rx7.com. They are very helpful on the phone and I have yet to have any problems with them (after all of three orders ).

I've never mail ordered from either RB or mazda trix, my buddy ordered a short shiift from Mazdatrix and it was sent very promptly. You can't really blame the company for shipping late when they have some sort of supply problem. But when you do mail order always be sure to talk to the guy on the phone, and yes sometimes you can get them to work out some deal with you, afterall you don't have to buy the parts through them and they would rather not lose your business.

Everytime I have bought from RB or mazdatrix, I've walked in and picked the stuff up that day. Both shops seem to have very knoweldgeable and helpful staff, I would recomend either shops to anyone. But as usual phone orders can sometimes be frustrating.

Just thought I'd clarify that I do trust both RB and Mazdatrix and will continue to order from them. I didn't want my post to be interpreted as me disliking either company, just relating some experiences.
