Rats Nest Death

Ok, so the other weekend I pulled out the dreaded Rats Nest but was unable to start the car untell I received my new exhaust. Well I just got it today so I put it on and go to start the car. Everything seems normal I choke it and it's running great but then when it's done warming up and the choke cuts off the car dies. I restart it this time with out the choke and it wont stay running. If it drops below two thousand rpms it dies. Thinking I had done something wrong I went back through the steps probably six times to no avail. I don't know what to do. Someone please help me. What's the most common mistake made while removing the Rats Nest?

Start the car (with the choke on, so it'll run) listen for vacuum leaks.

Better yet spray carb cleaner to find the general area, then attach a little straw (like a WD-40 straw) and find that vaccum sucker!!!

P.S. You almost defenantly have a vac leak.

You might want to check the sealing around the block-off plates. You did install block-off plates, right?

Calvinpaul I don't fully understand how your test works if you could explain more it would be very much apprecitated. As far as block-off plates I did put them on but i will check the seal around them. Thanks for the help guys.

the carb cleaner is flammable and will affect engine rpm...

A vaccum leak, if there is one, will suck the carb cleaner in to the engine and you will here an audible change in the eng speed/tone

I am having the exact same problem with my Rx7 it starts and dies after its turned on. Its prolly a vacuum leak or electrical problem like coils, or the condesnsor.
