That's what I used to do mine, as well as one written by Vipernicus42, but I mostly got along with the mazspeed.com one. Also the dashpot, although i don't know why it's named that, is to ease the throttle shut, instead of it slamming shut if you jump off the throttle. Prevents backfires and whatnot. When I stripped my Nikki I left it on, just because the drivers in this city usually give me a good reason to jump right off the throttle. Its the mushroom shaped deally with a white piece sticking out the bottom, on the rearward side of the carb. The white piece will be in contact with the throttle linkage.

Yea right now the rats nest info is all over the place. A new fresh writeup is needed with the PCV mods and what not. I get confused reading Carl's walkthru like he says "this is out of here" or "how dare they put this much into"... ??
It's not descriptive enough. I just don't want to throw a mystery pipe away. Just saying room for improvement not to hassle someone that went thru the trouble of making what is the defacto guide. Just it's not like "Rats Nest 4 Dummies" is what I need.
BTW is it true NZ 1st gen's had no rats nest? If so can we get some pics of how the carb and vac lines etc are rigged NZ stock?

I think the only diff is the shutter valve and a few things like 3 cats and stupid air injection to heat up the cats. Are you talking about that pipe on the side? Yea I searched for a pre fabbed block off but one was not listed for that. At least not my year (84).

Yea if you look at the rats nest info there are flaws in each method. Like the drawings with 2 vac connections and a red circle (should be one). Or the fact that the vac advanced was found to work much better on the first nipple. Uh then also where to put the AC solenoid after moving that and a few other details missing. And finally crankcase sludge and PCV. Also the hose sizes and type has some confusion.
