we can only approximate under the assumption that everything else on the car is fine ... header alone should be worth about 10 HP or so (at the flywheel) but can get over 20 HP with a complete exhaust system.

BTW ... DO NOT consider the Pacesetter/Monza crap! trust me on this ...

Racing Beat's website claims a 22% increase at 7000 rpm (redline) for the entire exhaust system. I e-mailed them to ask about their testing, and they replied that the exhaust was tested only on one car. In another words, your results may vary! But it should be ok, because eveyone on this board swears by RB. And everyone on this board also equally swears that Pacesetter/Monza is crap. Do a search, and you'll see what I'm talking about!

Good luck with your 7

Well, the only issue with the pacesetters are that they don't really grind down the pipes to be smooth. You'll pay less, but have to spend some time grinding. The end result is going to be the same though.

I have what used to be a pacesetter for my header. After grinding, it's as good as an RB. YMMV

Buy the RB. It will last forever and it will fit right.

If you take a look at both headers, you'll see the difference... The design of the RB is very proffessional, the others looks like the stuff you could just aswell make yourself.
Complete exhaust will change the cars character seriously. After installing a RB SP exhaust sytem and a Mikuni side-draught carb, my car was finally a sportscar, instead of a sporty looking car.

The RB header isn't perfect though ... acording to lots of people a header should come straight out of the engine for 3" before turning ... the RB header turns straight out of the block.

I'll agree the pace-setter isn't as good as the RB. The RB fits right the first time and appears to have equal length runners. However, once you modify the mounting holes (5 minute job) and grind out the collector to flow right (hour or two job), the pace-setter is a decent upgrade over stock. I think a lot of people knock the product on hearsay (SP?) alone, having never tried it. If you've got the money though, go with the RB.

Will my RAcing Beat header fit without removing the main cat and the rest of the xhaust? I am prepared to lose the two precats, and it looks like it would fit but I have been told by 2 people it wouldnt fit and 2 that it would. Whats the truth?

Thanks in advance.

I got the 13b Racingbeat header used for free. I want to put it on until I can get my high flow cat/dynomax muffler/2.5 inch exhaust made ($$) I was hoping to benefit from the header now and replace the rest of the exhaust later.

I have a PACESETTER header and never had any problems with it. Everyone claims that the coating comes off and it becomes rusty...So does every other header! No leaks in my either and everything seems to have been grinded properly within the header, so IMO its a good header...I've had it for about 4 Years.

put it next to the exuast you have on it now and eyeball it, if it looks close then go for it, if not and if you dont have emmisions i would just get a test pipe made that would fit between theheader and exuast
