Quick question please...

Help please...quick question..
Has any body had any problems with the car overheating
after the complete "rats nets" was removed.
This may sound stupid, but after we had the complete
"Rats Nest" removed, my 1982 Rx ...the temp gage started
to act up...could this be a coincidence...

Temp gage was always at 2/3rds ...now she passes 1/2..then goes higher if
I put on the car heater...a clogged heater rad maybe ??
All was changed..new rad..new w/pump..new t/stat..???

Any input is appreciated..

Regards

Goes HIGHER if you turn the heater on?

The rats nest should have. . . . wait.
Check if your cats are clogged. This could be raising internal bay temperatures.
As part of the nest removal, you should have taken the Air Pump off. This cools off the cats. Not NORMALLY a problem, unless the cats are whacked out.

Could be a lack of belt contact on the water pump.....Did you put the yoohoo belt on?

Ok..forgot to mention...there are not cats..I have RB all the way..
Yes Air pump is gone... I have a double pulley..two new belts as well...tight enough.
I was wondering if my fan is hiting the fan cover..I noticed that the fan blades
were worn out at the tips..it burned a hole last year on top of the plastic fan cover last summer. Maybe she's hiting it still ..when driving.
Maybe not enough space between the cover a fan blades...If it's not that...then I'll cancel the heater core (by pass) and see what that gives !!

Yeah, it's in the directions for the nest removal. I ended up just using a standard belt on mine though. It fits kind of loosely, but was enough to stop the squeeling noises from the belt slipping on the water pump, and no issues with temp....

The Yoohoo belt is a lawnmower belt that you can stretch over the main pulley and water pump pulley so that you don't need a double alternator pulley (which is the other option)...

Oh, I just used the L3300 or whatever belt. Fits fine with a bit of . . . . work.

Could just be the Sender, Or the wire is off the sender and shorting out.

Put an aftermarket guage in the waterpump housing, and If you have one of those IR temp guages, check every thing out with it.

Also check your fan. You should spin it with the car off and it should not go round but a few times, if it is easy to spin then the fan is bad.

Yes, that's the Yoohoo belt, although your part number is off. I think it was Paul Yaw that "discovered" it.
