OH quick and nasty

like i have said b4 i traded a b18 hatch for a 83 old beat *** rx7.... dunno y but it was my boo boo..... then i came to realize that this rx7 only has 26,000 miles on it.... the fuel was so old that it basically didnt allow the car to run.... so with the help of some friends we went got a bunch in tank carb cleaner, spray carb cleaner and oh yea new good gas.... i went out today with a new battery and the damn thing turned over... so i let her warm up and to my surprise this thing halls *****... so i basically beat it for a good 20 minutes and shut it down... just to be curious i went back out later and she started up again.. now for the nasty part... the body is destroyed basically and im lookn to replace it... like i mean this thing is done but i dont want to part cuz the motor is still brand new.... is there a place i can go to get it repaired like it looks like someone smashed the *** in with a truck... or do i have to get a new shell

it would be cheaper to get a new shell. i picked one up for $200 when i did my project, and that protion only cost about $900 total. 200 for the shell, 400 for paint, 40 for bondo, and less than 200 for sanding disks, misc expenses. i did all the work myself (with some good mentoring), and know for what i paid, a body shop couldn't even touch it!

less than $900 to take this

to this

question is, how much of the work can you do yourself?

Post pics of the damage. That will give us an idea of how bad it is. Also check for rust on the inside of the rear wheels, under the body and underneath the storage bins. If the wheel wells are grossly rusted, body work may not be an option.

Sorry to bother But

i have an 83 rx7 she runs and everything but the clutch is beginning to **** me off.... at first when i got the car sat for 20 years only has 26k original miles.... got her runnin and everything.. at first the clutch worked then it went to hell.... i was told that because it sat the clutch fluid(break fluid) was old....so i bleed it and refilled it and it worked for about 20 minutes and then it tried to quit again... i have to pump it a trillion times at the light jus to get it home.... could this be due to air in the lines still or might it be a master or slave cylinder

Replace the clutch master, slave and rubber hose, then it will be good for another 20 years.

^^This is very true.

Before you ask about replacing just one or the other, remember that the pressure of a new unit (slave or master) will make the old unit fail within a week, even if it was still holding pressure before.

^^ agreed. if its as bad as you describe, a body replacement would be best suited..unless you want to learn body work..which would then turn the car into a great restoration project.

If the body is horrible like you say, just get a shell like homeboy said. No use in having a metric ton of bondo in a car if you don't have to. A shell shouldn't be too hard to find. Theres one at a salvage yard near my house actualy . I live in WV so I dunno if you'd like to make that journey...

Yeaaaaa his car is ffffffuuuuuucccccckktttteeeaaaadddddd...... It got hit so hard in the drivers rear quarter right in front of the bumper it creased the chassis in the bottom right corner were the hatch closes. The drivers door gap is about
1......................1 that big. well it just tweaked the whole thing badddd. looks like it got hit by a motorcycle. He needs a new shell the motor is strong all the fluids need to be flushed and changed hopefully it don't blow before they get changed its sat for a long time.
