Question Question for the TRUE experts. Can a gouged rotor be reused?

Hey, here is a good question for you experts on rotary rebuilding. Can a gouged rotor and housing be reused? My dad uses a wire edm. He suggested using that to cut down the rotor housing. Then using the same process on the rotor. After that fill in the apex groves with a tig welder and recut them with the wire edm so the apex will stick out the required amount. I'm talking about cutting 10 thousands off of the rotor housing, then cutting the apex grove 10 thousands of an inch shallower. If this makes any sense to anyone, do you think this would work?

no, especially not on the rotor housing... u will never get the rotor housing smooth again after its been gouged out by an apex seal... and i'd be worried about tig welding on a rotor, one thing that would be sure fire screwed up would be the balance of the rotor...

Well, that just adds to my argument with my dad. I say its not possible. He thinks it is. I already know that the compression will be screwed up, but that just more to argue about.
