Question Question for female 1st Gen owner in Tally

One of my friends just ran away to Tallahassee because he was scared of hurricane Ivan. He called me and told me he met an awesome 19 year old girl there who had rebuilt a lot of her first gen RX7. I have several questions, mostly because the first gen RX7 isnt exactly my intellectual strong point. This mixed with the fact he knows nothing about them means what he said could or could not be accurate.

From what he indicated, he said it was a fuel injected engine. I was under the possibly inaccurate assumption that 12a's were carbeurated. He also implied that she had completely rebuilt the engine herself. The previous owner had apparently set it up as a drag car? I could ask a whole host of other questions, but I think i will wait until someone steps up and professes that they are the mystery woman. If it helps anyone realize I am talking about them, his name is Josh and he drives a Desert Silver(gold) Acura RSX. If this is you, I would like to ask you the questions that he couldnt answer.

Thanks

Derek

Stock 12a engines were carb. engines..
Most people say the rotary engine isn't THAT difficult to rebuild if you have alot of patience...

The thought just may cross my mind.

Seriously though, he said all kinds of strange things that didn't quite add up. He also added that she spends a lot of time on the forum, so I figured I would see if he was full of it. Besides, I am always interested in meeting local people on here, especially females who rebuild engines.

Oh god... Keep the leg humping to the lounge... This is the ONE place I can get away from the mayhem and into a little technical jargon...

I love a wrench turning girl just as much as, if not more than the next guy... Problem is they don't like me.

My from experience we have zero members of the female persuasion in the first gen section. If we do have any, they apparently publish their "work" under a male pen-name.

From what I've learned in the past year and a half, all you'll find here in the 1st Gen section are the most knowledgable members of the Rx7club forums. There are quite a few older guys here who definitely know their stuff, and are more than willing to help out on any occasion. Seeing as I'm only 20 I've got a lot to learn, but the guys around here are the coolest anywhere. I've learned tons by fixing this old, smelly, fast, unique little sports car using only the advice of the veterans of this board.

So maybe you didn't find your dream woman. But hey, its not all bad. You found us instead, and as far as I'm concerned this forum is the greatest collection of free information ever assembled on these cars.

But good luck finding her anyway.

Oh, yeah.... I might as well say it in case no one else does....

This thread is useless without pics!!

Might as well bump this one more time before I call it on him.......

.......and just because she rebuilds rotary engines doesnt make her my dream girl......

.......there are several other qualities that I am not going to go into right now.........

........but rebuilding rotaries is a definite step in the right direction........

Well, all I can say is FSU rocks man. I have family there and even thought of living there myself (currently live in TN) and going to FSU. My problem was that they didn't offer Architecture though (my desired major). However, I will never forget that campus as to every girl walking around there left me absolutely speechless....

My guess is that she is a college student there and only visiting the forum between classes. Most stay away from meeting on the net anyways.

Cool hearing about females working on cars (rare) and ecspecially Rx-7s (very rare)

Go Noles! (and umm, yes Go Vols!)
