Not sure about the turbo, but you can't use a 13b manifold (intake or exhaust) because the 13b was a longer engine. The ports and bolt holes are farther apart.

Actually the 2nd gen turbo was made for 13b motors only. Hitachi makes it and I've never seen a real compressor map for it. I've read the T-04B with S-3 trim is very close to the same performance specs.

You can oval the bolt holes and grind some of the exhaust, it will then bolt up.

thats a picture of my 13BT manifold after I modified it. You might have to space ist out some, but you can just buy a racing beat 12a header flange, that works great

worked for me too. and dont use a 12a header flange (but you can), use a 12a header gasket. alot more percise.

hitman
The Series 5 also runs a larger turbo with dual wastegate flaps. It has a 1.0 A/R exhaust housing where-as the Series 4 has a 0.88 A/R. Compressors are very similar. Physically if you put the two next to each other the Series 4 has a flat-ish look to the exhaust housing , the Series 5 has a more bulbous look.

im not saying dont use the header flange .. its just that the quality of the flange i got was not so good. if you use the gasket which is exact, you will get a better final product.

It is a hitachi HT18. It has a 1.0 A/R on the exhaust side.

You can make an adapter to bolt it to a 12a like people above are showing.

The one of the S4 (86-88) is a twinscroll and people usually opt for the S5 version of it as it makes a little more power and the wastegate i believe works a little better.
