Coolant leak on top of engine?
Last time my car was running was in the summer, I noticed coolant was collecting on top of the engine right under the carb.
The following pic is not of my car but is labelled to give you a better idea.

most likely this is a problm with the O-rings between the manifold and engine.
Get as gasket and o-rings (two) for the intake and replce them. Not that much work, and a good time to refresh the coolant

i had the same problem about a month ago
then it just dissapered.
aparently its a good idea to just block off the coolent 'tunnels' into the carb.. (unless you live somewhere where it is frequently under 0 (or 32, bah)
and if u do that make sure you get a new gasket aswell.

if you pull off your intake manifold there is a gasket in between that and the engine. In the two coolant ports on the intake maifold (circle shaped) it indents a couple of milimeters, one o ring fits into each of these two holes place the o-rings in there throw your new gasket on and seal it back up. pretty simple and can be done easily and painless. You can also order the gasket and o-rings from www.racingbeat.com.

I am experiencing the same problem on my 84 gsl-se. Losing quite a bit of coolant and refilling about 16 0z. everyday.
motor was rebuilt about 7,000 miles ago w/ new intake gasket and o rings. Why else would it puddle up on top of the engine by the intake manifold? are there any smaller coolant hoses that could leak? can't seem to find the leak and am not convinced it's the o rings on this fuel injected motor, any suggesstions?

well you have small cooling hoses under re-egi that could be leaking, they are hard to get to, so one of them might have a loose clamp or have a cracked hose
