some of us really like how a raw rotary sounds

however, the racing beat road race exhaust system is widely regarded as the best sounding rx-7 system. they use thick piping to help minimize the tinny sound the rotary puts out.

Racing Beat. Pure bolt-on, fits like a glove, mellow sounding goodness.

I once bought the racing beat dual long primary setup (road race). I took it to my muffler guy to install, as my old bolts were rusted on, he was AMAZED at how well it fit the car. It holds snug right up underneath!!

And it sounds AMAZING!!! I'm ditching my custom turbo setup exhaust in lieu of returning to the old racing beat muffler!!!

Buy a used one.
Keep your eyes on the classifieds. I just got one for $255 shipped ! The RB website is selling the same thing new for $616 plus shipping! That price makes you want to faint!

Racing Beat's streetport exhaust system is awesome. Keep the pulse apart using RB's header and long dual-silencer primarys and you'll hear and feel the difference. They truely bolt right up, too.

Getting that original stuff dismantled will be a pain, though. I used PB Blaster solvent and Aerokroil to make rusty things move easier.
