Unhappy Put the 7 into a wall!!!

Well, this sucks!!! On my way to work this morning I ran my car into a wall. It was the first rain of the summer, and I should have known better.
I was heading onto the highway onramp, which curves to the right. I was going about 35-40 and felt the back end start to slide out.... uh oh. I let off of the gas, and it kept sliding, so i tapped the brake!!! D'oh... should hit throttle!!! oh well, too late now! It sent the front right of my car into the wall.
The damage isn't too bad, but i think i will probably just part it out cuz i don't have any time or money to **** with this damn car anymore... which sucks! But on the good side, I didn't hit anyone else, and I am ok. I will try to get some before and after pics up soon.
Oh, and don't ask if I have anything you need... if I decide to part it out, I will let you know.
Another one bites the dust!

Next time, let off the gas very slowly. Letting off the gas quickly will just transfer more weight to the front end, causing the back end to slide out even more.

First, Glad you're okay!

Second, Since i'm new (no 7 yet!), but I was wondering who makes new sheetmetal for FB's (if anyone?)? Just in case I ever new any, or do I need to look for another donor?

Thrid, I'm working on getting the price down on the GSL-SE that I posted about last week!

If in doubt, gas her out! if the rear starts coming around, just hold throttle where it is never let off. try to drive it out. the trick to a good slide, is to ignore what the car is doing, and LOOK and steer to where you want to go. it minimises overcorrection (which most people seam to do).

That really sucks dude, your first gen was one of the cleanest in town. What wall did you hit? Let me know if you need a hand with anything.

Victoria British sells all the sheet metal from the windshield forward. Anything else will need to come from donor cars.

Sorry to hear that, Jeff.
At least you weren't hurt.
What onramp was it, anyway?
I got my SA sideways once on the Springfield exit from I-5 South, that big right-hander.
It was also a wet day. Fortunately, I was able to recover with a little judicious throttle-steering.
My wife was with me, so I caught hell about it.
The oversteer comes on pretty suddenly on these cars, especially in the wet.

lol, now every time I take that offramp with her in the car, she gives me "the look".

"But honey, if you'd lose a little weight you wouldn't upset the car's balance so much". *ducks*
