Here is where I'm getting my info from, the FC track width is in this thread at 57.1"
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ighlight=track
The FB's track width is listed on this site at 55.9
http://www.rx7.org/public/rx7specs.html
Those figures assume stock wheels though, and the FC has a +40mm offset wheel so if you have a 0 offset that probably explains it. 40mm is just over 1.5", plus the .6" additional on each side, would probably make the wheels stick out how they are. I think if you were to run FC sized wheels it would probably fit close to stock.

Does anyone know if the Renesis will fit in the FC subframe easy? I'm considering this as an alternative to RX8 Subframe. (Of course we're talking like years from now when I have the tools and money to do such an extensive project Right now, I'm just concerned wit getting my lil guy in one piece)

I'm just using the stock FC swaybar, which mounts to the unibody rails forward of the subframe. I haven't finished the mounts for it yet, but I will take pics when I do. I'm hoping that since the FC is a heavier car the swaybar will be stiffer, so it will be like upgrading the swaybar on my FB. Plus, I painted it red, so it must be sweet.

Kentetsu: I won't be home again until Thanksgiving and even then I don't think my car is in any condition to race...unless you and some other guys want to push real hard.
Johnny: I'm glad you like what I've done. I just hope that through all of my pictures and description I can help anyone else who is thinking of trying this. As for the rear suspension, right now is just a GSL axle lowered with stiffer springs and miata struts. The description and writeup are here:
https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generation-specific-1979-1985-18/cheap-suspension-703395/
Since the writeup, I've swapped axles, but everything else has remained the same.

lol, well I kinda figured your car wouldn't be ready. But don't you have a friend with a Miata or something? Seem to remember you had another option for the last race. Anyway, the car is looking good man!

Quick update:
While I was home over break I didn't get anything really done on the car but I did take some pictures and some measurements.
First the steering column, some better pictures of the engine bay side:
Here is the bracket that holds the bottom part of the column to the firewall.
I hope the pictures better explain how it's mounted.

I did some measuring while I was home and my front is nearly 2.75" wider than the rear hub to hub. I took some pictures with a better perspective on the width front and rear.
Remember that the wheels on it are 14x6 0 offset, so the +35 of the FC wheels will fit much better up front. You'll have to get rears with a high negative offset or some spacers. I took some more pictures with the new wheels I'll be using. They are 15x6.5 +40.
So, if you end up running some wheels with a higher positive offset, you shouldn't need flares at all.

Yeah, it's the metal cast anodized paint. It's a 2 part process. There is a shiny base coat and then the colored clear coat. I got it at the local Advance Auto Parts store. I used it on the fuel rails, CAS, oil injectors, and VDI Actuator.

84 GS Project Continues
While I was home for Spring break I got to get some more work done on the car. I didn't take any pics while working, just some before packing it up to leave for school again. I really wanted to get all of the electrical worked out. I bought the engine and body harnesses for a Series 5 FC but obviously there were a lot of things on the harness that I didn't need. About the only things on the body harness that are needed are power for the ECU and the coils. Why Mazda couldn't put the coils on the engine harness is beyond me, but they are on the engine harness in my completed version.
Once I had taped the harness back up I put the boot though in the stock location since the stock emissions computer was no longer needed. After that it was just a matter of getting everything plugged back in.
While I was at it, I pulled apart the harness for the FB and took out all of the unnecessary wires for pop up headlights and such. I'm just about ready to put the FB harness back together, but since I had a fuse block from the S5 I decided to take the time to add it in instead of the fusible links. More to come on this.
I welded mounts for the oil cooler to the front cross tube and modified the radiator support for the hose to pass through. A little clean up is required on the hole put it's getting there.
The last little nest of wires to get taken care of.
Some modification will be required of the hood under structure where it hits the top of the intake plenum.

Just as a short addition, I have a friend at school with a vinyl cutter and I had him cut out some horsepower boosters for me. I like the way they turned out. Makes me want to take off the windshield trim and work on it, but I have more engine work to finish before I can do that.
The way I figure it I must get at least +20 HP and +60 in handling for the stickers alone.
