problem, need help ASAP
Ok, now some of you may not remember me at all, to those who do, remember about 3 years ago when I was a total newb and needed some desperate help with my Rx-7 and you all worked together to get me back on my feet?
Well, I think that time as come again. What I need is an engine and ASAP. I'll buy it off of you of course but I need a 12a FAST. The revolution is coming up and the motor in the car I was going to drive just blew last night I'll drive to OH,IN,TN,IL to get a motor or perhaps even farther. I have another rx-7 to drive to the revolution but its not as special to me as my baby is. Please if any of you know anything or have one laying around I need it.

...Yea, it was HARDCORE! She was pulling HARD on a Juiced-Mustang GT at 9 grand in 2nd gear. He was getting monkey-whored. She shifted 3rd and blew an apex seal! It came out of the exhaust and cracked the mustang's windshield! He went home cryin, man what a sweet way to go!
Good luch Rach, hope you find a way to get my car's twin back on the road. Silvie-II would be awful lonely at the revolution without Silvie there.

I don't have an engine to sell you, but I do have some advice. I would try going to http://car-part.com/ and searching for a 12A in your area, or within driving distance. Many of the junkyards listed on there will guarantee you a running engine for up to 90 days if I recall correctly.
I recently purchased a 90,000 mile 12A from a wrecker in Ohio and had it shipped to me for a total of about $300. It's in the car and running great already. I know you mentioned going to pick the engine up yourself, so the core charge is something you'll need to keep in mind. Some of them will actually try and charge you a core charge if you come to pick the engine up, or make you trade in an old engine instead.
The trick is these same places will also waive the core charge if you have them ship you the engine. They don't want to have to pay to have the core shipped back to them so they just ignore the charge. So basically you can use your gas and your vehicle to go pick up the engine, and then either GIVE them a 12A engine, or pay the $100 extra core charge. Second option, you can use your $100 to have the engine shipped to you, and save the gas money and wear and tear on your vehicle. The only problem with this is that you don't get to check the engine out in person, so you'd probably want to make sure they have some kind of guarantee.
There are lots of inexpensive 12A's on there, many of them with low mileage in good shape. I'd recommend trying there, or at least calling some of the parts yards and see what you can come up with. Good luck!

There's a 1st gen chic other than me?!
Anyway, I'm picking up 2 "new" children for myself on Sunday. Both 12A's. I gotta check out the quality yet, but if there's an extra engine that will run w/o becoming a serious project I'll letcha know.
Hope you get her running in time for RR!

Hi-Jack,
Shada72, I saw your signature, it's true to! I own a V8 Thunderbird as well and well when I got it down the street in first gear I kept wondering when I was going to hit the high rpms but it just stayed down at 4.5k RPM and that felt slow to me (even though in realitly its about 3 seconds faster in the 1/4 mile than my RX7)!

And I'll be at the Revolution too! It should be easy to find me. I'll be only 1 out of a handful of girls and probably the only other one in a 1st gen. I'm caravaning down with Ashley (SexyRX.) She's got a 3rd gen but we can forgive that We should all hang out together. Not too often do we get the chance to see our own gender at these things (well, one's that aren't in bikinis or totally bored that is)

hello ladies! I am just going to put in a plug for Kevin @ rotaryresurrection.com. His website has a good list of parts for sale and he may have a 13b that you could swap in. And he is in the east tennessee if that helps. good luck and have fun at the revolution.
