power windows in SA door

just kicking this around, but if I wish to install power windows in a SA door I will just need to drill some new mounting holes or is there a structural difference that I am missing?

i couldn't say what if any differences there is between the sa and fb doors. it's possible tho to have to drill some holes to mount the power window motors. if the doors are actually the same, the best way would be to just swap doors. that way there's only one hole to drill to pass the wires into the interior for each door.

Late model JDM SAs had PW as an accessory on the Limited package in 1980. Depending on the SN of your chassis, you might find some of the fittings and cutouts (eg in the A-pillar, a rubber plug for the harness run, with similar in the door leading edge...). You might best wire in PW using bits off an FB so equipped. Certainly you need the PW regulators anyway, and presume these should include the door harness. If you can get the matching dash harness/sub harness of the FB donor, you can spool the wiring for the switches (and relays?) off it for your build. Q becomes where to mount the actuating switches...

i think the regulator uses the same holes? you will need a hole for the harness, but that is pretty straightforward

the other trouble is that the power window door panel DOES have different bolt/screw holes.

more of an "upgrade" than an upgrade

I thought it was weird that the car had holes for wire runs in the door. Now I know that some SAs had the option. My unique situation is the wiring harness that I am using in my '80 chassis is from a 1983 model. I do have the electrical wiring for power windows (minus the regulators and switches). So it would seem that as my car does have pass through for wiring, it also would have the pre cut holes for mounting the power window regulator. I am likely to add some relays while I am at this. FB window switch maintenance is dumb.
