Door sizes for different first gens

My '79 was hit from the side and the door was dented. The damage is not just on the outside sheet metal. There is a horizontal bar inside the door which is bent enough that the window doesn't roll up/down properly.

Anyway will a door from another year of first gen fit on my '79 okay?

I think the 80 Gen version might. Then again I am no expert I am just summing it would since 79 and 80 are the closes model that are almost just alike.

Actually, I believe they are all the same. The only differences are the trim on the outside, and whether it has power windows, which only matters if you need the window regulator. Power/manual regulators will fit any first gen door.

Any 79 to 85 door will work. But The inside door panel does not fit correctly on the 81+ doors.

That's what double sided tape is for. But yeah, the basic door is the same all through the different years of RX-7, except that there will be a difference in the rub strip on the '81 and up cars.

I have an 81+ Electric door on my 79 Limited Hand roll Door, sure makes it hard to get the window down.

Thanks for all the info. I guess I will be looking for a door from a '79 or '80.
