Power loss please help

I was driving 100km/h down the highway and my car just lost power. It dropped down to about 80 and just stayed there and it wouldnt accelerate at all. I have already changed the fuel filter and it looks like the fuel pump is quite new. It seemed almost as though one of my rotors just cut out or somthing. I was just wondering if anyone knows what is going on here that could be a problem. I have just finished an engine swap in it so it could be a vaccum leak from a hose i may have missed if thats a possibility? It is an 82 12a. Thanx for any help

Check for compression in both rotors.

I did about a week ago and it read around 80. I checked in an online book i have about the car and it said that that was about where the compression should be. It seemed kinda low to me but im new to rotary engines so i figured i would just trust the book on that one.

Was the swap a rebuild? Rebuilds can have lower compression compared to a properly broken-in motor. 80PSI is marginal if it's not a rebuild. 100-110PSI is considered strong.

If you haven't done a compression test since this problem occured, I'd suggest doing it again. Even just pulling a plug and listening for three strong whooshes. The symptoms you're describing sound like one of your rotors did indeed die.

I dont think it is compression though. I am not sure if it is a rebuilt or not because i bought the car with the extra engine so I am not sure. However, the car will run fine and than just die when i am going around 100-110 km/h. Than i will slow down to about 80, so i will pull over for a bit turn the engine off, than itll work fine after and i can go back up to 100-110 no problem. It will just randomly die. I drove it into the city no problem than it died have way through on the way back. I had the car sitting in the city for a while to so it wasnt like i did a quick round trip either. Any ideas??

Ahh, that's a bit different. Hmm. Sounds to me like a fuel delivery problem, but I'll just bump this up for someone better than me to see.

I'd suspect an ignitor. That's just what mine did. Simple fix

Do you mean like a coil or spark plug or somthing when you say ignitor or what do you mean by ignitor?
