possibly the worst set back EVER!!

Last night I took some sleeping pills and got a real good rest... 10 hrs. of solid sleep. I woke got some freash baked bread, made a really good sandwitch and made some real hot coffee. A freaking nice start to the day. I was going to prep as much as possible on my project. I got a hair cut, apparently its suppose to snow today. I said that ok, I am going to be inside the garage. I will be able to install extra lights and the begin with the days work.

I should have thought about it.. why was there a strong smell of skunk coming from my backyard? Nothing to worry about I thought. It happends from time to time. I got a 2 pitbulls in my backyard. One is old and shes about 40 lbs. or so, very aggresive to other dogs and cats. The other one is a male, atleast a 90 lbs. dog in the summer. He is also very aggresive to other animals; allthough, he is shy and doesn' have the experiance in fighting of the older female. No I do not fight them, I got them out of the pound. I knew the female was used to fight because of the way the ears were cut. Apprently the last owner cut the ears off themself. ANYway.. I noticed a strong smell of skunk coming from the back area of the house. I figured that the dogs got sprayed.. WRONG... they freaking killed the skunk and DRAGED the freaking thing into the garage!! ****!!!

I wonder how long that smell is going to hold up.. lol

too bad I can not post a "scratch and sniff" of certain things in my garage

I suggest opening up the doors and letting it air out a while (a few hours). This is of course, after you remove the carcass. Also could go buy a can of febreeze air and give it a good spraying. If anything, it will cut the smell down enough to be bearable so you can work. Other than that, no idea. Good luck man.

OMG.. I tryed to run in there with a shovel.. theres skunk juice all over the driver side fender and theres some blood on the bumper.. then i just couldn't hold it .. why do I think the skunk actually won?

I don't think the febreeze will not work based on the principle that I had another insident with dogs, skunks and my house, somthing to do with them running around my house after being sprayed :/

WTF! why me?

I think that there are a few things that are supposed to get the smeaal of skunk out. I am havinga hard time remembering them right now though.

I am pretty sure that beer was one of them. Go to google and do a search I am sure that you nose would be much happier.

Good luck!

Tomato juice, or a really cheap beer. Doesn't anyone watch Mythbusters? If you go to the Discovery Channel site, they may have some info on the episode they did on removing skunk smell. Don't feel too bad, you could have been driving down the road nad ran one over!! I did that one time. The bad part was, it got hung up on the bottom of the car. I think it stuck to the exhaust. That really sucks.

I know vinegar will work in large enough amounts, but I don't know if you want to douse your car in vinegar... Sometimes the cure is about as bad as the disease.

Well, I am glad they dogs did not drag the skunk INTO the car!
Go to the pet store and buy a quart of enzyme based skunk cleaner.
If you have used ANY soap before the enzyme, then you will need to rinse the area well.
Then use the enzymes, cover it with plastic so it does not dry (the longer it is wet, the longer it is working). Give it a day or two and you should be set. The enzymes will eat the proteins that make us the stink. The enzymes will not work to get the smell off the dogs.
Good luck!
