Possible new car

A friend of mine needs a car and I found a 500 dollar RX7 with some parts we'll be swapping, like enkei mesh with bald *** tires and new eibach lowering springs. but that's besides the point.
It has a oil leak on the passenger side of the engine and it leaks onto the exhaust manifold. it's a completely stock 12a motor, unmolested. we plan on removing all the emissions and un-needed things asap. What should I expect to find for an oil leak? If it's a possible easy solution he'll definitely pick the car up. I just don't want to hose him on a car that needs a total rebuild just for parts I want.

The oil leak could be the OMP.

I didn't even think of that. I thought the omp was on the front cover at the bottom of the engine?

It is. Possible that the OMP could be leaking and the oil is blowing back and landing on the exhaust when the car is moving. But when the car is sitting still, there is no way that the OMP could leak on the exhaust.

Can also be from the OMP connection at the carb, though that tends more to pool in that gaping chasm on top the intake manifold. Could eventually seep over to the exhaust mani, I guess.

i don't think it does it when parked - i let it warm up and sat there with it running talking to the guy for 30 minutes or so just to see if it would have any idle or heat issues.. but tomorrow i'll double check everything to see. I'll pay special attention to the carb and omp, too. thanks guys
