Possible fuel pump problem

So I was started up my rx the other day, and I make it half way down the driver and it dies on me. When I opened it up I noticed that there was no fuel being pumped through (there is plenty of fuel in the tank). So I just tried turning it on and seeing if I could hear the fuel pump in the back. I couldnt hear anything, so I decided it would be a good idea to take the pump out and hook it up to an alternate power source to see what was going on. Well, it works, but I'm not sure if its even working correctly. Also, I found one of the power connections for the fuel pump underneath the storage bin. I tried testing that to see if I could get any power out of it and it doesnt seem to work, I had a good ground too. I figure its either the fuse or something is wrong with the connection. So I take apart the fuse box and all of the fuses seem to be in good condition. This is where you guys come in Does anyone have any experience in this and can give me some advice? Thanks

Its an 85. How exactly can I get to the fuel pump relay? When I do find it, how should I troubleshoot it?

You're welcome for the factory manual link. But hey, maybe you didn't see that either.

Wink

Actually I did see that, and I was genuinely thanking you. I'm sorry you took it differently. Are you done being a troll now?

No, not until this thread is locked. Did you fix the thing, or what?

sounds very similar to what I have been dealing with for a while. As it turns out my trailing igniter was not working, thus the relay didn't work properly. I replaced the igniter and away she went.

That's why I was asking if the tach was working.

Well the relay is working fine (even used my 83's relay just to make sure). Tach is also fine, also there is nothing wrong with the fuel pump, because I used my 83 pump and that also does not work. The fuel filter is not clogged, and I even blew some air through the fuel lines just to make sure those werent clogged either. This thing will just not pump any fuel. There has to be something so small that I'm missing here, something trivial.

In the gas tank, there are two lines that feed into it, they were clogged on my dads GSL rx7 and would barely allow dribles of fuel to come into the fuel filter by the carb.

Isn't there a sediment screen on the feed to the fuel filter that can clog?
