Port styling

Is there anything between a Brigde port and a 2nd stage street port? If so how streetable will it be. I'm looking at a bridghe for my new engine bvut don't want a 3G idle.

many misconceptions about bridgeports out there. . . . . .

My 12a J-Bridge idles nicely @ 1800rpms. Brapp - Brapp - Brapp -

They also get terrible gas mileage and need loud & low restriction exhaust to get the most out of them.

BIG streetport?

I would recommend a 60 deg streetport,it will work good, and give ok gas mileage.

how do you measure the actual degrees of a particular port job? Is there an easy way to measure or do you need some sort of degree wheel...

Or do you just measure from the bottom to the top? I think mine are like 70mm tall. Some how, that doesn't seams like the right way to measure though. I think a degree wheel is the best.

The right way would be to use a degree wheel.A easy way (not that accurate).Turn the eccentric shaft to the sport just before your intake opens.Make a mark on the housing.Turn the eccentric shaft clockwise (duh!) untill it closes again.Make another mark where it closes.

Turn the eccentric shaft the remaining area that the port isnt open, and then you can work out how long it stays open.

Thats how i do it,and its not that inaccurate

So basically a 70 degree port means how long it stays open from the time it openes to the time it closes? Not the angle of the actual porting?
