Question Poly control arm bushings...

Ok, so Ive got the Energy suspension poly bushings for the front controll arms, and Ive just got a quick question about something thats concerning me. The stock mazda bushing looks like its just pressed in, with the edge of the fatter side almost flush against the controll arm, while the opposite side has more bushing showing and almost seems like the arm is mounted off-center. The poly bushings will contain the controll arm evenly in its mounting point, Will this throw anything off, since it seems like the control arm will sit about 1/4" or so over from the way mazda had it? If no one understands what I mean Ill post pics, but someone must have run into this.....?

I just got mine done. I hope it does not matter. I just went with it as the bushing kit is designed for our cars specifically.

Doesn't matter.....
I have them installed on my SE and have been running it for over 3 months with no problems. They are pressed in and the ES bushings are centered and work properly. Make sure to lube the inside of your frame to help get the arm back in place as the ES bushing is thicker than OE and will require some persistance to get back in.

Also, don't fully tighten the bolts until you drop it back down to normal ride height and bounce it around a bit to settle it.

i also have a set of these energy poly bushing set. I bought the ones for the lower control arms as well as ball joints and tie rod ends. Is this something one can do in the garage over the weekend or do i need some special tools ?

the control arms may give you hell. the only special tools i used was a 12 ton press. i bought mine but you should be able to rent one for about 25 a day. my control arm bushings were fused in place. had to cut them with a dremmel . ball joints i used a bid c clamp. was told it was tack welded but mine was not.

Ball joints... no problem: 20 ton press.
Control arms... no problem either: bit of drilling and they hammered right out. New ones went in with no problem, just jammed them in with an old crappy wooden vice.
Also, had no problem getting them back into place, just took some carefull wiggling...but all in all, NO PROBLEM!

If only my brake bleeder valve wouldnt have broken off Id be on the road....
