Pod Filters?

Pod Filters?
Does anyone run these? I got my OER carb fitted, and there is barely any room between the alternator and the carb, definately not enough room for the typical box filter setup that goes around them. So my question, does anyone have these? They are little filter "half-bubble" that fit inside the velocity stack (is that the right word?).
Oh, and links on where to get them would be great!

are you talking about the filter socks that go over the ram tubes?
those work ok but for max performance you want the biggest air filter you can get, or if your really hardcore (and conditions permit) you can run without one.
heres a link to some socks:

1). As Trochoid stated do not use the sock filters. They are inefficent, don't last long and start restricting air flow very shortly after install.
2). Move the alternator forward and run it off of the next belt groove that you are not using. Just remove the spacer and reposistion forward.
3). Buy a good Kn setup(rectangular filter)
4). Get rid of the damn Fram/Frap oil filter, lol.
5). Start doing some clean up on that engine bay.

Those 79 SA alternators are a little larger than the 80 - 85. I guess there wasn't enough room to fit the external regulator in there! I don't know if you would want to put the later style alt on there, but I'll give you a FB alt when you come up. I think there is a writeup in the archive for changing over. Or you can ask robs_seven about how he changed his.
