Please help

I replaced my fuel pump and still no power to it, I did the little jumper wire thing and made the pump work, car wont start, but gas starts pouring out of underneath neer catalytic converter...once I take the jumper wire off and try to start it it fires up and then dies.....did I reverse something?

Yeah... bad wiring + fuel leak = bonfire. Fix the leak, then check the relay and all the wiring inbetween with a multimeter.

Sounds like you replaced the fuel pump with a high pressure unit, which is now overpowering the carb and pushing your fuel right out the exhaust.

Once you get that corrected, you probably need to perform a major deflooding and some new plugs.

What fuel pump did you use? If it is a high pressure pup Kentetsu's answer is the solution.
