Piston Trouble

Hey all. All my friends from where i am are firm belivers in the way of pistons. Every time we talk about cars they say that because my 84 GSL-Se is almost 20 years old that it is a pile of crap. They say that a gay rotor cant stand up to as much as a piston and ive tried to explain a million times aobut how theres not as much direction change and really less wear on the motor, but sitll they all call my car a pile of crap, what would you suggest i do, and no i cant get new friends, because i live in a small town, and theres noone else that i actaully like for friends. Even my own brother has been ripping on my car saying its a piece of **** and stupid stuff like that. Please help me find a way to get them to stop doing that because it really makes me mad when people say i wasted my $800 bucks on that car when theres only 1 rust spot. I know that i didnt waste my money, i love my car, and am glad i spent the money, but they just dont quit.

For the most part, there's no changing people's opinions (witness what happens when someone mentions a V8 in a Rex he he) so you've just got to deal with it... actually, the best wya to get them to shut up is to learn more things about THEIR car than they know and show off your knowledge.. LOL

i think the main thing that would shut them up is to show them what your 1.3 liters is capable of. what do your friends drive anyway?

They will understand someday. The mystery of the rotary is only exceeded by it's power.

very true, I know more about boingers then 90% of my freinds.

In fact they come to me with 90% of their piston problems.

and the funny part is I have never had a picton driven car in my name ever.

I actually rebuild, port polish, and modify all my freinds kawasaki 4 stroke v-twin motors for his lawn equipment, and some 2 stroke stuff but I'm still learning about two stroke motors and what you can and cant do in terms of modifing.

Oddly enough, many of my friends don't like my '85 GSL because it's about 15-20 years too new to be cool.

MrBigG and wagondriver have the right ideas, just string 'em together.

Save up your money and go on a quest to beat the pistons. Then kill them. All.

If I were you, I'd start looking at performance mods for your 7. They'll STFU when they see how it can *really* perform, even considering it's a 20 year old car. Exhaust, Intake, Porting... and see if those buggers' Civics (or whateverthehell they drive) can catch up.

Then show them the NEW 2004 Rx8, with 247hp stock (without turbos!), and the articles where the Renesis engine won "Engine Of The Year". If they want a "new" and "fast" car, there's one. Just think of how much faster it'd be if it were a 2-seater with turbos and whatever the Renesis equivalent of a street port is.

Ya I'm asuming your "friends" drive newer civics and other four cylinder economy cars that they think are the sh*t. I may have a V8 in my GS but I remember how great my 84 GSL-SE was to drive. Very smooth and I loved the sounds it made, alot of times a very involving car to drive, that's what owning a car is about. Getting to know all of the little things that make your car -- your car. Tell your friends to go shove their 5inch coffe can mufflers up their a$$.

Ask them how many 1.3 liter piston engines can make 472rwhp? Then show them this site: www.ajc13b.com

The rotary is superior to all!!

Or instead, ask them how many 1.3 liter piston engines have 800hp and then show them THIS site...

http://www.evil7.com/arniesbeast.html

13B Periphial Port Twin Turbo

Thats 615 horsepower per liter!!!

Dude - relax.

If you like and are proud of your car, who gives a **** what your friends think? First, why are they so concerned about your car? Jealous maybe? I've had several people come up to me and ask me what year is my car, damn that's in great shape... Drive a Civic - and unless it's tricked out to the gills - you won't get a second look. They're everywhere!

RX's have great potential should you be so inclined to play - but they're also unique. You've made a good choice, if it works for you. You don't have to be just like your friends, just like the masses (remember the masses make a trend) and buy a ******* ho hum Honda, Mitsu or any other kind of "just like me" sort of ride... If you're going to go your own way, be your own individual - taking a little crap from those who just follow goes with the territory.

Moral of the story: **** 'em - feed 'em fish heads and rice - then smoke 'em with speed and/or style...
