I'm not convinced that the brass plug that's staked in the back of the e-shaft will appreciate having bread or dirt forcefully smashed at it.

The Mazdatrix one is nice but at that point I'm almost at the price to have someone do it for me. Others have told me that a harbor freight one works if you grind the backside of the puller. But harbor freight sells 2 different ones.

I have the Mazda tool, and it works great. It also cost quite a lot. But it had the advantage of doubling as a dowel pin tool.

A 14mm bolt. 2 nuts and a large washer and you can get any of them out with no damage. I showed how in a previous thread year and half or so back.

I borrowed one with the slap hammer from O'Reilly Auto Parts.
I had to file down the tips to fit, and ended up buying the puller part for $15.

Well I found the best tool in the world. I bought the blind hole puller from harbor freight with my 20% off coupon it came to $60. The part goes into the bearing and fits perfectly with no issues. Literally 4 slides of the hammer and both the seal and bearing fell out. In less than 5 minutes I was done. A much better deal then some of the more expensive ones out there.

bread and a 10mm deep socket. did it yesterday. flywheel stopper= chain. i made my own 54mm socket out of grade 80, 3/8 steel and made the back piece to fit a 1/2in drive on my 4k laser cutter at work, had it welded up to a 4in long piece of 2&3/4in O.D, 1/4in wall thickness pipe. worked like a charm and didnt have to spend anything.

How does it compare to the one Mazda sells? Pictures look similar.
