Pics of RX-2 RX-3?

where can I find some good pics of these cars? And which one was it with the "Coke bottle" lines that made it the more preferable of the two? Was it the -2? I've seen some good pics on the forum but I can't seem to find them now

RX-3 is shorter and lighter.. about the same size as an R100 but R100s are really rare and were just rotary converted 1200s (?). RX-3 was designed from the beginning to house a rotary.

They both have "coke bottle" lines, more pronounced in the RX-3. RX-3s also have a MUCH better looking nose and tail.

Basically look at any Australian websites, it seems like most '2s and '3s are in Australia. Probably has to do with better weather (RX-3s apparently have big rust problems where they come apart at the lower body seam) and the proximity to Japan. Apparently New Zealand and Australia were the dumping grounds for the Japanese used-car market... at any rate fewer RX's were sold there new than in the US but they seem much more plentiful there.

I'll post some a pic of a '2 and a '3 if ya want...

RX-2's have the Coke bottle shape your asking about and the first production Mazda to use Watts Link rear suspention.
R-100, RX-2, RX-3 (RX-4's?) came in both vertions Rotary & Piton
all Rotary cars RX-2,3,4's had 4 round or semi round tail lights
piston vertions had rectangular tail lights, This is the easiest way to tell if a car has been converted to a Rotary.

Later, Chris...

RX-2s had a Watts? Hmm. I only ever heard about the works RX-3 racers using a Watts to help out the leaf springs. So RX-2s had a Watts in addition to leaf springs??

BZZZZ wrong! R-100's and I think all Rx-3's do indeed have round tail-lights but later model Rx-2's have the "dog-bone" shaped lights and Rx-4's have square(ish) tail-lights.

Sweet RX-3s Powerslave... but IIRC the R-100 and RX-3 weighed within 50 pounds of each other and had almost the same wheelbase...

Pictures of my RX-2 can be found here: https://www.rx7club.com/photo/index....r=3959&thumb=1

I have a 74 which is rare and has the above mentioned square taillights instead of round.

The 808 turned into the rear drive GLC, didn't it? That was the car known in other markets as the 323 (our front-drive GLC turned into our 323) right? 'Cos I've seen lots of people talking about converting their RWD 323s (Australia obviously) with just the RX-3 subframe and a little bit of fabricating here and there. "RX323".

I know I've seen a couple '80 GLCs for sale... I think they switched to FWD in '81, but the GLC hatch (?) was RWD up till '85...

Well dont forget that the rx-3 SP's had rectangular tail light also. And ya the 3 and the 100 weigh basically the same but the 100 is a little smaller but they were just built heavier. I own and SP and ya i do have the rust probs pretty bad. I will get pics up hear pretty soon. I have a friend that has an sp and he is going racing so he is going to do the wide body gt-3 thing so i am going to get his whole rear quarter so i guess i will be doing a lot of welding... Any ways my 3 is lowered 3 inches and has front coilover with the camber plates so she does pretty good. Any ways i will try and get some pics.
