Picked up another FB...

Well, since I could drive I've owned an RX-7 up until a few months ago. I've been feening for my wankel power. Well... the other day I picked up my new baby. It's an 83 RX-7 with about 180k on the clock. It's a nasty gold/tan color w/ tan/brown interior but the body is straight and overall very clean (a few dings and a rust spot on front facia). Currently no motor but good trans/rear is in the car. The car also has tan FD leather seats and the rare FC 2+2 seats.

When I get funding together for the project I plan to pick up a 13b ball and rebuild/port it and drop it in along with a posi rear. I will definately be painting it. I was thinking something along the lines of montego blue. Not sure if there will be room in the budget for that WW kit w/ the square fogs that I love on FC's... Anyway. After some paint and new wheels I think some juice is in order. Something along the lines of a 150 shot.

PS: The car was FREE!

Odd... at the bottom of the page it says we are allowed to edit our posts--however I can't find an edit button/link for the life of me.

So--anyway... everywhere I said "FC" in that last post... sub in "FB".... :x

[edit]Oh... so NOW there's an edit button... I guess you're not allowed to edit the first thread in a topic. Ah well.[/edit]

What did that steering wheel come off of? Mine is the normal 83 style with the slots. That one is cool.

Hey do you need some help with the project. I am willing to give up a couple of weekends to help put an FB back on the road. In the process of getting my FB in good mechanical condition. Tax time needs to hurry up.

The gold '83 is the *****. The color is a little lacking, but if you do any changing it should be to Ford Gold. Montego Blue is for sissies.

Yeah, two of my cars are Atlantic Blue... but I love GOOOOOWWWWLDDD!

Just a matter of drilling a few holes. I think the new seats make the car look so much better. Also, they leave a good bit of room in the car like in the center and such.

By the way, 83 had a few options for steering wheels, or at least Ive seen quite a few for that year. The two spoke wheel as shown is in some 83s and more common in pre -83s. I had an 83 GSL and had a 3 spoke version of the same wheel, much better looking IMO. Ive also seen 83s with the 84-85 style steering wheel. I guess it just depends on your manufacture date or something.
