pic of my '80 covered in solid sheet of ice.

We had an ice storm here a couple of weeks ago, so I took a picture of my RX7 with a solid sheet of ice covering it. The picture was taken the second day when the ice was actually starting to melt, it was much worse the day before.

Oddly enough, we didn't get any real SNOW, it was more like freezing mist that formed into an enveloping sheet of solid ice...

NASTY stuff, worst I've seen in years.
Couldn't even leave the house for two days, plus my water supply line for my sprinklers froze and burst.
Nice. Made a 3 foot tall ice sculpture in the front yard.
I suppose I should've taken a picture of that, but photography was the last thing on my mind then, lol.

We get that stuff all the time. It's a major source of power and phone outages, trees falling down, etc.

Just trying to get the key in a car that's been left outside in one of those storms takes serious hard work.

They say cars can't feel windchill, but us northerners know better.

I hope we get real snow soon,

braap, braap...

Clear ice would've been cool to see. This ice was white and opaque. This kind of ice storm is pretty rare here, so when it happens, nobody is prepared for it and all hell breaks loose.

Yes Bob, the RX4 SHOULD be in the garage, but the RX3 and my Fiesta parts car are in there presently. Once I yard the parts I want off the Fiesta, I'll get rid of the body and get the RX4 in there and start building a motor for it. I TRIED to get Jeff 20B to take it for his FWD rotary conversion for free, but he wasn't interested.
Too bad, a rotary Fiesta would be a freakin' awesome track car!
