dash repair

Just wondering if anyone has used the dash repair cover that MAZDATRIX sells for our cars. It looks like a good idea but you never know until you try. I just dont want a glued on pile of crap....would rather have a cracked turd.

Thanks.
Rick.

Ive heard its pretty good but never seen it. Mazdatrix is a very reputable joint, they dont sell much garbage. And welcome, by the way.

Just get a decent one at the junk...er...SALVAGE yard.
What year is your car? I've got a totally cherry black dash from an '80 (it will fit some other years too, but I'm not positive which). I might be persuaded to part with it if the price is right.

if all else fail carpet the dash, you can really pretty one up if you take your time, plus it makes you stereo sound louder and the road/engine noise is cut down alot

Someone installed one of those covers in my '83 before I purchased it. It's crap, or at least they did a horrible job. The cover is already cracked in several places and is really plasticy (real word?) to the touch. If one looks, you can see the double layer especially around the vent areas. Also nothing seems to fit into the dash right, such as the gauge cluster surround. Just pick up a cheap dash at the local yard and take the time to install it.

The local trim recovered mine for $225 and in leather too.

The platic hard covers for most cars run about 110$ or so.

I tried to put up a phot but I don't have the time to figure it oput tonight. it tells me that the file is too big to upload. i'll try to resize and upload again later.

I'd sell this perfect dash for $125 shipped.

I recovered an RX3 dash with Tolex once, that's the black pebble-grained covering material used on Fender guitar amps. Looked pretty good, actually.
