Not hard to do in NC, its only a safety inspection which most places just do by telling you to hit
your lights, brakes and horn then collect $13.00.

Now SC and Florida, no inspections! That makes me feel like DD feels now

My fd had one blown tail light build, no horn, no rear view mirror and they still passed me. Nc is pretty great.

$4 in parts & $101 later, I'm good for two years.

Private NJ inspection, pretty sure state would've had me buying a cat.

No smog?

The test is lights and a brake inspection, seriously? I wish we had that in California even every year. We have to pass SMOGII every two years and it's done on a chassis dyno.

Luckily I've never failed smog on a car I've worked on ever.

Always set the timing with a light. I never use a light except for smog and they will fail you if it's off. Also ensure it is hot, don't let them try the old let you sit around for a half hour; I'll sit in the car with it running.

Can you tell me more about the testing down there? I'm moving to Gonzales (just SE of Baton Rouge) in a month, and I believe Ascension Parish tests for smog. My 85 has zero emissions equipment, zero cats, and you can smell it coming man. ND has zero emissions/inspections. Is there any hope, or should I just keep renewing in ND?
