Painted Interior Inserts

Im sure that Im not the first to do this, but I just painted my dash /console inserts flat black, to match the rest of the interior. The stock silver was starting to show it's age, it looked dirty, and around the ashtray black was starting to show through.

I taped off the "PUSH" on the ashtray, and rubbed some grease around the dials, so the paint wouldn't stick.

I'm not sure what brand paint you used but we have found that the paints from SEM are the best as far as durability and color.

I'm not sure why you put the grease on the plastic dial pieces because they come off.

I took the dial pieces off, I meant the area behind them, with the fan speeds on them, and the red/blue for the heat, and where the light shines through.

I used Tremclad.

Well when you guys are painting yours, you can remove them. Id rather smear grease on em, and tape em off!

Well, you got the job done and that's the main point.

We are just trying to show you that there is a more efficent and less messy way to get the job done.
