It doesn't look like my V3 Tender, but it's hard to tell in pics. I know that Misty (U3) is very similar... so I'd go with Misty.

It is a beautiful FB. I believe he gave up on it because of the time and money he had invested (he is a student) and his results of the turbo setup were disappointing for him. The car now belongs to codeblue/codeblue2. They own a camden supercharged FB as well as Geoff's turbo FB. I am glad that it went to someone that will take care of it a appreciate it.

On his car, I thought he said before that it was tender blue, but I am not positive. Send a pm to codeblue2. I am sure she can tell you.

Geoff (IoTus) had to sell the car for other reasons. He doesn't hang around much anymore, but we definitely miss him.

His car was a custom color IIRC, and there was a thread about it. If someone is bored enough they could search it up

Maybe I will.. when it's not almost 3 in the morning

I got un-lazy, but the thread I was thinking of got a little un-informative... then again, I only re-read the first two posts!

Just hit cancel on the popup. It's someone's image server being password protected so that people don't harvest or something silly like that. You don't need it anyway

https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generation-specific-1979-1985-18/ocean-blue-color-code-279045/

Edit: Oh, the color code IS L6! It looks darker in the can because it gets layered over a gold reflective mica undercoating. My car's colour (Sunbeam Silver) looks like a darker grey when it's in the can.

So there you go, it's a stock colour, from the factory. L6.

Now if you want the clear tail lenses, those you have to do yourself. There is a write up on it here somewhere

Jon

I saw the car right after Geoff (ioTus) bought it, about 4 years ago. It was a stock GSL-SE (except for the 16" wheels), and it was gorgeous. The original paint was simply amazing, so Geoff focused his energy primarily on performance mods to the engine and suspension.

I don't know the name of the paint, but it is stock for that year.

IoTus needs some love. Im still paying Jeoff for the car and trying to squeeze in some things that it needed badly. With Blue costing us Ive only managed new tires and Sterio sys, and a few other small things. This winter IoTus will be getting some love for sure. IoTus is getting the weber worked on tonight for the trip to Seattle this weekend.

Jeoff was right about IoTus sucking gas. With him being a student and all I don't know how he could have even afforded IoTus as long as he did. Im thinking new paint job after some of the small issues that it has gets finished. The color is definetly and eye catcher.

The car is part of our family now I must say much more reliable than my Blue SA supercharged car.

I am doing some finishing touches to an 85 gsl that is the L6 color but in bad shape so i have prepped everything for paint and was just wanting confirmation of the paint code as this weekend i might paint the car and finish putting the interior together to sell it. I got the car for free with no keys but was able to make a key and swap in an a good motor, the car is almost good to go bleed the brakes and adjust the carb dashpot and replace rear hatch struts. How much paint should be enough to paint one of our cars for a decent paint job quantity wise and price? thanks Brandon.

It was difficult for me to get the factory l6 color like Iotus'. I opted for a 2001 Miata blue but I have noticed that the 2005 Thunderbird has a similar color.

I wouldn't do maaco. It does vary shop to shop, but in most cases they don't do very well. My car has a maaco job on it. It looked pretty good for a couple years. Now it is faded. The paint chips off the plastic (bumpers) because they didn't add a flex agent. There was quite a bit of overspray as well as significant orange peel on the hood. And this was one of their more expensive paint jobs. They also don't like it when people do their own body work. If you bring your car in and they spray it and it comes out like crap, they will blame your body work for the cause and won't respray.

I would try to find someone that does it in their spare time or save up for a good paint job. The cheap ones will get you by, but will be more expensive in the long run.

Just my $0.02.

It's where the paint surface is dimpled, resembling the skin (peel) of an orange.
