RB holley 600 tips

If you ever order the holley 600 kit form racing beat, let me tell you, thye are hard to tune, run really rich out of the box, arent pre-tuned like i was told they were.

also, you need to get a new throttle cable. the stock cable from a gsl-se is too long and not adjustable.

i wasnt aware, i was told that it would just fit fien and dandy from rb, i have about a quarter inch or more in slack in the throttle cable and its still not tuned properly, ive now got fouled plugs, hopefully it will be propperly running this weekend when i take it to a shop.

other then that, i can complain, its just been a hassle, i vapor locked it yesterday and was stranded on the side of the road in 105 degree heat, god bless texas.

but just to let oyu guys know, keep the htottle cable and tuning in mind when settign a budget to do the holley setup from RB

no carb is every ready "out of box". sometimes you get lucky and it's close, but there are too many variables. sea level being a huge factor. now.. what you need to do is get a jet kit, drop the primaries down a couple sizes and see how it's running. other than that it might be ok. and isnt their 600cfm setup made for ported motors???? probably why they jetted it so rich.

Tell you what, I had more luck with my Holley 600 cfm from a local speed shop. I installed, they tuned it. Simple as that, and half the price of RB.

my holley 465 streetport ran PERFECT from racing beat. I have since changed it to an adjustable secondary metering block, but otherwise it ran awesome. Crazy that they do actually modify them. The secondary metering block was drilled from a 50 or so jet to a 70. Very happy with mine, but darn was it expensive.

weird... maybe they fugged up and sent you a carb jetted for a ported motor. lol you never really know till you open her up if you are taking it to get tuned by some holley carb shop guys or something then great, if not.... get the full jet kit and start tuning yourself. it's very easy and you'll save some money. rock on and good luck!
