iam in the same boat as you trying to build your car and save cash where you can, thats why iam buying a sp 12a with low miles from a member instead of buying a fresh rebuilt from some of the bigger names . saving close to 1400$ isnt bad in my book.

So basically to run a PP 12a, you want a 48IDA, clearenced and balanced rotating assembly, carbon/ceramic rotors, hardened stat gears, 3 window bearings, and higher oil pressure, correct?

Yeah and use the lightest 12a rotors-83-85. I would also recommend E-shaft jet mod and a very free flowing exhaust. Get ready for the loudest thing on the street. Also, get ready to start replacing drivetrain parts...

I got 2 spare 83-85 blocks here

2.50 exhaust is good for now, 3.0 when/if I go bridge/PP.

nick812 I bought the engine from my father inlaw. The housings were made back in the '80s from a '70s 13B, the rotors and eshaft are from a GSL-SE. I didn't have to do anything except buy my seals and assemble her.

Stevan I'm running a dual 2" system with four mufflers.

I would personally change that collector to something better. The U shaped collectors with me doing some tested for our Formula SAE car results in really poor flow because the air almost opposes itself and reduces scavenging.

Ya, somethings got to be up with your setup( I think anyways) blown7. I'd probably run 14.5s or lower with My GSL-SE engine with sidedraft mikuni and very free flowing exhaust I was told.

the weber is not tunned for the PP. It came off my 1/2 bridged 12a and then it wasn't even tunned for that. The weber is jetted for a 12a streetport but still starts and lets the car run and idle. Lean very lean but this will change once the new tranny, flywheel and clutch is in. Cause once that is in then i can stick her back on the dyno and tune the weber as best as i can for this setup till i microtech it and add nos.

That exhaust is too restrictive for a p-port. Two 2" all the way back to two mufflers or 3" all the way back to one muffler. I know it's loud but hey it's a p-port, they need to breathe.

oh hell yeah +1 one on ultimatejay...either run what he said two "2"inch all the way back to 2 mufflers or run 3inch your going to need all the breathing you can get out of the car...and yes it will be loud...but the performance will not suffer...

I run Dual 2" all the way through 2 presilencers and 2 walker super turbo mufflers under the car, then the tailpipe over the axle and out the back, never collecting,it sounds so much better than when the mufflers are at the back of the car,oh this system is on my RX-3SP Peripheral Port,as far as power it made 288rwhp and that was with the 51 IDA,i am in the process of putting FI on the engine, and 175 shot of nitrous,i think it will kick some *** when it's done.

the nitrous has not been installed yet,the 288 was just on the motor, and the best time i ran was 12.70@110 full exhaust full interior, just bolted on a pair of tired slicks.

Sound good. Sooner than later the muffler packing is just going to be blown out with a pport. I recommend running the high flow stainless presilencers and mufflers from racing beat. I am running 3" all the way back to a 3" Racing beat muffler no precilencer- yet on my Bridgeport. Sounds and runs awesome. I haven't got pulled over by a cop yet but it's a matter of time before I'll eventually throw on a 3" RB presilencer.
