In and out steering wheel
My steering wheel moves in and out. I checked the bolt that holds the wheel to the column and it is ok. The whole shaft inside the column, the one that holds the wheels is the one that moves. Can i fix this? Please help. Thanks
PD. It is an 85 GSL

Yes. There is a procedure to fix this. Try searching for "steering column".
What happened is that both of the sheer pins broke inside your steering column, from either a front-end collision or from excessive wear and tear. Those plastic pins are designed to "give way" in a collision so you don't crack your skull on the steering wheel; it's a safety feature.
The procedure to fix the column requires that you measure from the firewall up to a certain point on the steering column and drill a hole. Then you'll insert an aluminum pop rivet to fix the problem.
That's all I remember. If you do a search, I'm sure you'll find the full procedure on how to get rid of the in/out play.
