You better get that damn thing fixed so I will know what jets to use. Now what car are you going to use to drive to work? You need to find one that goes 100 and is fine with it.

WTF?? What were you doing? Were you low on oil? Over rev?? You might want to considering pinning the rotors the next time around.

Well I've been actually trying different combos of fuel jets and air bleeds. Last night I was testing my latest change, and it was fine. Revved it to 8k rpm as usual when testing it, no prob.

This morning I got on the highway and almost immediately smoke started to come out of the console, and the exhaust. Car lost power. Took the nearest exit, tested ignition, fine, tested compression, rear rotor has 2 small whooshes and 1 big one, with normal compressor tester I got 80 psi (front rotor 100 psi). One interesting thing is that both trailing plugs were white, so I might have been running too lean.

The car is still drivable. Same thing happenned to me last Feb and I was driving for 5 weeks like that until I got this engine dropped. Car was stock almost so it had less power than now, i.e. about 50 hp on one rotor as opposed to 75-80 now. So it's a little better than last year. Funny, I got my car in FEB 2002, apex seal blew FEB 2004, and now again on FEB 2005. :/

Anyways, I have to take a look at my options, as my budget is limited and I can't just spend another 2k on an engine.

i dont think it was the carb at all.. if the motor was built properly it would still be running... rotary engines can take alot of abuse!!

was the motor built? or was it stock?

I agree. It's highly unlikely to blow an n/a engine by leaning out.
