IN One oil line came off the Nikki carb. Should I panic?

I recently purchased a '79 Rx-7 with 80k miles that has generally been treated well, but I noticed a lot of "gunk" under the carb. I thought the carb might be leaking, so I started removing it for a rebuild. I found one of the oil feed lines had pulled away, and had been coating the base of the carb in oil. I have no idea how long it's been like that...but it's clear that only one rotor had been getting its supply of oil. Otherwise, the car seems to run fine. Should I panic over this issue? I'm new to the rotary experience, but know that lubrication is critical for these engines.

No need to panic. Any damage that might have been done is all in the past. Just ensure it can't come off again and maybe as a precaution add a little premix each time you fuel up.

When I bought my '80, I had it for three thousand miles before I paid attention to why it wasn't using oil. The MOP was dead and not adding oil to the engine.
It ran fine, I started premixing, everything stayed fine.

Who knows how long the PO drove it like that! The car had only 89k, so ?

I also made this mistake, on a brand new 12A rebuild, which a realized when I opened the hood on its maiden voyage after about 50 miles.

No harm done as farm as I can tell, 10,000 miles later that 12A still runs like it just came from the factory.
