I do have a concern--gas thinning the motor oil. As we all know rotaries have a problem of gas getting leaked into the crankcase oil. Some people recommend very frequent oil changes to combat this problem. If that is the solution then synthetic may be too costly--changing every 2000 miles. Then again, maybe synthetic would hold up much better than std oil after being thinned out.
Don't tell me I got leaky injectors. They were just cleaned and tested and I still have gas in my oil. I also have a gas cut switch that I use to shutdown the engine. The cut switch allows you to bleed all the pressure out of the fuel rail so even if an injector was leaking it wouldn't leak much without pressure behind it.

synthetics should be ok for 3k, even if gas leaks into it. there is crap in the oil that helps deal with this.
I think that synthetic oil would great for any rotary, the oil is used for cooling the rotors (im sure our oil gets pretty hot, hence the oil cooler), and synthetics maintain thier viscosity(sp?) under much higher (and lower) temperatures.
Im gonna make the switch when I get my gas tank back in
