OMP leaks, no apex lubrication?

I see a small amount of oil under my Oil Metering Pump, could that be oil that was headed for the apex seals? I don't want to be damaging my engine, how am I supposed to pre-mix? The OMP lines at the carburetor don't look even close to dryrotted, and they seem to full of oil. Thanks for any help.

Not sure, but it's probably just the gasket that's leaking.

It's either the gasket or the lever (or whatever it's called). I installed an OMP with a new gasket that has a nasty leak at the lever/actuator/flow controller type thing.

While I'm on this subject, I just fixed a hardened OMP line that had cracked at the tip where it sits on the OMP nipple. the line looked fairly dry inside and there would always be an oil mess under my engine. You could almost make out the curve of the oil pan by the drip pattern. All I did was trim the rubber part down past the cracked hard stuff. Then, with some difficulty, pushed it back on the nipple and replaced the mini hose clamp thing (it's an old type that is thicker and less pretty-looking than what you'd see on an RX-7). I fired it up, took it for a spin, and the leak was gone. The line even looked like it had oil in it.

It was kinda funny to see that the other line's tip was also trimmed. I had forgotten that the PO had trimmed it some time last year for the exact same OMP leak problem.

By the way, I have my OMP jacked open to the 9'clock position (ask Dan Atkins) since I didn't have an OMP rod at the time I rebuilt this engine. I picked one up and should probably install it. It'll go from rich at idle/lean at WOT to what the engineers designed it to be. My oil consumption will probably go down too.

I wasn't sure why mine was leaking, so I ordered a whole rebuild kit from lowe performance (they don't seem to have a website anymore) but you can contact them at loweperf@gte.net

They did mess up my order (said it was mailed but it never was) but they got me a kit real fast after I let them know I hadn't gotten it. Costs $20 and the full rebuild works fine (though it wasn't necessary).

Btw the rebuild kit is a new gasket ($1) and four o-rings (about .25) but it's a lot more convenient than trying to source them yourself.
